Six Healthy Smoothies that will Help you Lose Weight

Who doesn’t like smoothies? Blend together some fruits, veggies, yogurt, and some liquid; add your favorite sweetener and ice -you made yourself a wonderful glass of smoothie.

Smoothies are quick to make and easy to consume. If prepared properly it can help you boost energy and lose weight quickly and it won’t let you starve.

Today I wanted to share some of my favorite smoothie recipes. I hope you’ll enjoy them too. These recipes will not only boost your metabolism but help in flushing toxins and losing weight.

1. Watermelon and Carrot Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup chopped carrot
  • 1 cup seeded watermelon
  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder
  • A pinch of Himalayan pink salt

How to Prepare:

Blend the carrot and watermelon in a blender.
Pour the smoothie in a glass.
Add pinch of Himalayan pink salt and cumin powder.
Stir well and drink.

2. Green Fruits and Veggie Smoothie

 Ingredients:

  • 1/2 handful Spinach or your favorite leafy greens
  • 1/4 Cucumber
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 2 sprigs of Fresh Mint
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 Kiwifruit
  • 1/2 of apple
  • 1 cup Water
  • Squirt of lemon

 How to Prepare:

Blend everything in a blender until smooth. Enjoy the healthy drink.

3.  Beetroot and Black Grape Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup chopped beetroot
  • 1 cup black grapes
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • A handful of mint leaves

How to Prepare:

Toss the chopped beetroot, black grapes, and mint leaves into a blender and blend well. Mix in the lime juice.

4.  Mango, Spinach and Yogurt Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup mango
  • ½ handful spinach
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 cup water

How to Prepare:

Blend mango yogurt and spinach. Add water, honey and ice. Blend again for few seconds to combine everything.

5. Granola and Banana Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4th cup granola
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp raw nuts

How to Prepare:

Blend all the amazing ingredients together. Add some honey (optional) for more sweetness.  This low calorie drink will suppress hunger and provide nutrients.

6. Strawberry, Spinach, and Cinnamon Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • ½ cup strawberries
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup water

How to Prepare:

Blend the spinach and strawberries with water. Pour in a glass and mix in the cinnamon.

This is a great smoothie for losing weight as the cinnamon helps reduce cholesterol and inflammation and strawberries and spinach help prevent obesity.

Natural Remedies for Weight loss that Work

Over weight problem? Trying to lose weight but nothing works or you can’t stay on track for long?

Below are some natural remedies that will help you in losing weight. The good thing is that you won’t have to starve yourself. The secret is to watch your diet even after you’ve lost weight.

What we usually do is get over excited after losing some weight and stop worrying about what we’re consuming again.

I’ve seen people especially women starving themselves when they start dieting. That is not the right way and that’s the reason you can’t stick to the diet for long. You have to eat to lose weight but only the right things.

Before you start any diet take a few days to answer these questions:

  1. Why are you overweight?
  2. What foods make you gain weight-carbs or proteins?
  3. Do you eat healthy and natural foods?
  4. What are the things you eat that you know you should avoid?
  5. Can you avoid or limit the unhealthy foods you consume if you go on a diet?
  6. Do you move a lot or exercise?

It’s important to know answers to the above questions if you want to get some results.

Now let’s look at some of the remedies that I or some of my family members have t

  • You’ve probably heard this lot to drink lemon water in the morning, it actually works. Add 2 tablespoon lemon and 1 teaspoon honey in an 8 oz glass of warm water and drink before breakfast.
  • Eat ½ teaspoon cumin powder mixed with ½ cup plain Yogurt empty stomach. A study showed this is a very effective way to lose weight.
  • Green tea is one of the best metabolism boosters. Drink 2-3 cups a day.
  • Crush a clove of garlic and mix with 1 tsp honey. Eat this mixture a few times in a week.
  • If carbs make you fat. Avoid bakery products, sugar and flour. Eat more vegetables, fish and meat.
  • Avoid soda as much as possible.
  • Also it’s better to avoid fried food as much as possible.
  • If proteins are your problem, eat less meat and protein products and try more vegetables, fruits and wholegrain breads etc.
  • Walk at least 5 minutes more than you usually do, then slowly increase the time.
  • Cinnamon tea helps you lower blood sugar. Eat it anyway you like, sprinkle on cereal, coffee or any meals.
  • Eat vegetables/fruits as healthy snacks, lunch or dinner

If you follow the above remedies regularly you’ll see a difference within a few days. Remember not all diets work for everyone. Most important is to know what will work best for you.

Personally, I believe if you really want good results, don’t force yourself, start small. If you can’t avoid most of the food then start consuming less of it. Once you start seeing results you’d be more encouraged and maybe then you can avoid it and eat healthier.
